COMMITTEES

The responsibilities of the chapter are designated to different committees. Each active member is required to contribute to the fraternity by being a part of at least one committee. A description of each committee is listed below.

Academics & Scholarship

The Academics and Scholarship committee is responsible for promoting academic achievement and scholarship for active members. They set up programs, such as study tables, to help promote success in academics, and they recognize those members who make the Dean's and President's lists every semester.

Finance

The Finance committee is chaired by the Treasurer, and is responsible for the chapter's fundraising ideas and efforts. Each member must fulfill a fundraising requirement each semester, and the Finance committee tracks each member's efforts. The Finance committee also consists of an auditing chair, who is responsible for auditing the treasurer's books at least once every semester.

Risk Management
Judiciary

The Risk Management committee is chaired by the Regent and consists of at least one member of each pledge class. The committee is responsible for ensuring that each member abides by all Risk Management policies, the Drake University Honor Code, national and local substance abuse policies, and the hazing policy.

The Judiciary committee is chaired by the Vice Regent and is responsible for overseeing any violations of the Kappa Psi fraternity and chapter Constitution and By-laws. This committee decides a course of action if any violations should occur. Members of the Judiciary committee also assist the Grand Council Deputies in supervising the general workings of the chapter.

The Social committee also includes the Athletics chair, who is responsible for setting up intramural teams and teams for other campus events.

Membership

The Membership committee is co-chaired by the Pledge Trainers and is responsible for planning and executing all rush events. The committee also promotes Kappa Psi at events, such as the Activities Fair. Two Encouragement chairs are appointed, and these people are responsible for recognizing active member's birthdays and other important events in actives' lives.
