I am extremely excited to be serving in this position as we have an amazing executive council this year! I decided to join Kappa Psi as a first-year student at Drake because I wanted learn more about the fellowship and philanthropic events that our chapter enjoys doing. The impact that Kappa Psi has made on my personal has not only allowed me to learn about the profession of pharmacy, but develop my leadership skills through leading this outstanding chapter. Community Awareness

February 5th, 2016

It's National Poison Prevention Week (March 20-26th).  As future healthcare providers, we find it important to educate the community about preventing dangerous poisonings.  Our main focus is on prevention medication poisoning.  According to the CDC, drug poisoning is highest in adults aged 45-54.  From 2012 to 2013, there was an increase in drug poisoning death by 16% in just this age group.  Call 1-800-222-122 for poison help if there is any accidental ingestion of household items, chemicals, and medicine.  If a person is unconscious or has trouble breathing, it is important to call 911 as soon as possible.
